March Meeting Recap

The March meeting was our biggest yet with over fifty ukulele players on hand.  Thanks to all who attended and, of course, to our rhythm section Ron on Kala U-Bass and Alec on percussion.

Meeting This Sunday

The Baywood Ukulele Social Club will meet this coming Sunday, March 18, 2012 @ 3pm, La Palapa Mexican restaurant in beautiful downtown Baywood Park, California.  We'll be adding Elvis' Teddy Bear into the mix in the key of C, just like the original.

Meeting is free and open to all, no experience needed.  Loaner ukes available.  Many members stay after and dine.  Won't you join us?

Songs For Under The Boardwalk Screening

The Baywood Ukulele Social Club will perform three songs prior to the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival screening of Under The Boardwalk: A Ukulele Love Story starring the Ukulele Club of Santa Cruz.  We'll perform at 2pm on Sunday, March 11.  The venue is La Perla Del Mar in Shell Beach, CA.  Cost for the film is $10 for adults.

Both workshops will be held on Saturday, March 10th
at my log cabin/surf shack on Weymouth Street in Cambria.
"Finding Your Sound" session starts at about 10AM
Lunch break after that (I'll cook but BYOB unless you like cheap wine)
"Playing Up the Neck" after lunch & through the afternoon.
 
Just $25 for both workshops w/handouts & lunch!

Under The Boardwalk Sing-Along

The Baywood Ukulele Social Club has been invited to lead a twenty-minute sing-along prior to the screening of Under The Boardwalk: A Ukulele Love Story, a short film on the Ukulele Club of Santa Cruz.


The screening is Sunday, March 11th @ 2pm at La Perla Del Mar in Shell Beach.  If you would like to be part of the group leading the jam drop Jim an email asap!
